Just Listen For A Change

A guide for today's inner city youth to help them understand their fight against systemic racism and oppression

Have you ever wondered what happened to all the strong black leaders? Why is the black community flooded with so many drugs? Why do black men often find themselves jumping into “da game” rather than picking up a book? Just Listen For A Change addresses these critical questions, speaking on the systematic destruction of black ambition, potential, development, and hope. It uncovers the design that has led to the corruption of the black community.

Written from the perspective of Oryan Miller, a young black man raised and groomed in “da streets,” this book sends a powerful message to young black men across the nation who find themselves trapped in what is known as “Da Game.” Inspired by the iconic work New Visions for Black Men by Na’Im Akbar, Oryan aims to bring a new vision to young black men everywhere.

TO ALL MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE STRUGGLE TO OVERCOME OPPRESSION, DOMESTICATION, EXPLOITATION, AND ALL FORMS OF HATRED.

To all the villains. To the ones that are always depicted as evil, Bad, and Incorrigible. The ones who never get a chance to tell their story because they have yet to find their voice. To the ones who grew up in the shadows but still managed to bloom in the midst of the darkness like the night-blooming jasmine.

To the ones in the trenches trying to make a way even though everybody assured you that there was no way out.

THIS IS FOR YOU!

Where are you, at this very moment that you are reading this book? If you are a Blackman it’s fair for me to guess between one of two places. The hood or in prison and if dead men could read I would’ve added a third option, the grave.
